DISC GOLF AUSTIN TX
More neon in Las Vegas; a frisbee park in Austin, Texas? Legitimate use of tax dollars in…?

…the 2009 stimulus bill?
Las Vegas, which by some accounts already glitters, wants $2 million for neon signs.
Austin, TX wants $886,000 for a disc golf course (Frisbees?). The $886K divided by the 4 jobs created equals $221.5K per job. The lists of pork go on and on and on. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123369271403544637.html

Are these legitimate uses of Federal tax dollars, or just a way for politicians to say to the home folks, “Look what I got for you”?

The politicians are doing what politicians have always done. They are using their power to buy votes in the next election.

The only solution to this problem is for there to be term limits on all elected offices. If that were to happen the politician would use their time in office to do what they need to further the interest of the people, not to buy votes.

I would like to see the President in office of 6 years, after that he/she goes home. Six to eight years should be adequate for the senate and congress. These time periods could be debated and set by people much more in the know than I.
